National Common Entrance Test (NCET) Details - 2024

National Testing Agency (NTA) : has recently released the official notification of National Common Entrance Test (NCET) 2024. This year NCET 2024 will be conducted on 12th June 2024 (Wednesday). This article will guide all aspirants to know all details of NCET.

National Common Entrance Test (NCET) : is a national-level examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), on behalf of the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). Qualifying in NCET is a mandatory requirement for seeking admission to the 4-Year Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) in selected Central/ State Universities/ Institutions including IITs, NITs, RIEs, and Government Colleges for the Academic Session 2024-25.

As per National Education Policy (NEP) - 2020, "The 4-year integrated B.Ed. will be a dual-major holistic bachelor’s degree, in Education as well as a specialized subject (such as language, history, music, mathematics, computer science, chemistry, economics, art, physical-education, etc.). Beyond the teaching of cutting-edge pedagogy, the teacher education will include a grounding in sociology, history, science, psychology, early childhood care and education, foundational literacy and numeracy, knowledge of India and its values/ethos/art/traditions, and more."

Interested and eligible candidates may apply online for NCET Exam by visiting at official online portal of NTA NCET. They may follow below mentioned steps : Scroll down, go to Important Official-Links section. Click on Online Application Form link. A new webpage will be opened. Enter all your personal and educational details as required. Upload your passport sized photograph and signature and other required documents. Pay the application fee as per your category and at the end click on submit button. Don't forget to take a print of submitted application form .

Important Details of National Common Entrance Test (NCET) - 2024
Name of exam : National Common Entrance Test. Date of exam : 12th June 2024 (Wednesday). Timing of exam : To be announced later. Duration of exam : The examination will be conducted on multiple days in two (02) shifts per day. Each shift will be of 180 minutes. Mode of exam : Computer Based Test (CBT). Type of questions : Multiple Choice Questions. Medium of Question Paper : 13 languages (Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Punjabi, Odia, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu). Total questions :181 MCQs. Total questions to be attempted : 160 MCQs.

Scheme of Examination
Subject combinations for each paper, type of questions in each paper, and mode of examination are given in the table below:

Section - 1:	There are 38 different languages. Any two languages need to be chosen. Language 1 and Language 2.	02 different Language papers are to be chosen. Each language paper will have 23 questions out of which 20 questions need to be attempted.
Section - 2: Domain Specific Subjects	26 Domain-specific subjects are being offered under this section. A candidate may choose any three subjects as desired by the applicable University/ Universities/ Institution.	03 Domain Specific subjects are to be chosen. Each domain-specific subject will have 28 questions out of which 25 questions need to be attempted.
Section - 3: General Test	This is a mandatory section. The General Test will have 28 questions.	Out of which 25 questions need to be attempted.
Section - 4: Teaching Aptitude	This is a mandatory section. Teaching Aptitude will have 23 questions.	Out of which 20 questions need to be attempted.
